Attitude – Coming Soon!

“… a manner, disposition, feeling, position, etc., with regard to a person or thing; tendency or orientation, especially of the mind: a negative attitude; group attitudes…”

Attitudes are generally positive or negative views of a person, place, thing, or event– this is often referred to as the attitude object. People can also be conflicted or ambivalent toward an object, meaning that they simultaneously possess both positive and negative attitudes toward the item in question.

We choose our attitudes. Our attitudes do not choose us.

Our attitude determines our altitude.

This section will give you the tools necessary to assess your own attitude and make any changes you deem necessary.

Decision Making – Coming Soon!

“…the cognitive process of reaching a decision; “a good executive must be good at decision making…”

Decision making can be regarded as an outcome of mental processes (cognitive process) leading to the selection of a course of action among several alternatives. Every decision making process produces a final choice. The output can be an action or an opinion of choice.

This is a favorite section of mine. Decision making is such an integral part of our lives, wouldn’t it be great to have a process to use to help you make any decision in your life? This section gives you this process.

Goal Setting – Coming Soon!

“…the result or achievement toward which effort is directed; aim; end…”

Goal Setting involves establishing specific, measurable and time targeted objectives. Work on the theory of goal-setting suggests that it’s an effective tool for making progress by ensuring that participants in a group with a common goal are clearly aware of what is expected from them if an objective is to be achieved. On a personal level, setting goals is a process that allows people to specify then work towards their own objectives – most commonly with financial or career-based goals. Goal setting is a major component of personal development literature.

Habits & Personal Effectiveness – Coming Soon!

“…A recurrent, often unconscious pattern of behavior that is acquired through frequent repetition…an established disposition of the mind or character…Physical constitution…”

Habitual behaviors can take days or years to develop, depending on the complexity of the habit, and how often they are performed. They can either be a positive thing, or a negative. On one hand, good habits help us keep our lives in order, on the other hand, a lot of times when we are really stressed we fall back on to our old habits. When we are stressed our memory is not as prominent and our behavior may be different, so people become more prone to fall back on their old habits.

So there are good habits and bad habits, so what. This section will help you understand how you create a habit (both good and bad) and then give you the knowledge on how to make changes to your habits.

Leadership – Coming Soon!

“…the position or function of a leader…ability to lead…an act or instance of leading; guidance; direction…”

Many definitions of leadership involve an element of Goal management|vision — except in cases of involuntary leadership and often in cases of traditional leadership. A vision provides direction to the influence process. A leader or group of leaders can have one or more visions of the future to aid them to move a group successfully towards this goal.

If you are a parent, a teacher, a day care provider, a pastor, a coach – you are leading others all the time.

No matter who you are or what you do, you are a leader, a person of influence.

And to be truly effective leader, you must first be able to lead yourself.

Our Language – Coming Soon!

Our language is a dynamic set of sensory symbols of communication and the elements used to manipulate them.

Language can also refer to the use of such systems as a general phenomenon. Strictly speaking, language is considered to be an exclusively human mode of communication. Although other animals make use of quite sophisticated communicative systems, sometimes casually referred to as animal language, none of these are known to make use of all of the properties that linguists use to define language.

How we use our language can make or break our ability to create relationships.

This section will help you determine the difference between positive and negative language, as well as, how to control your use of language. Positive words equal powerful results.
